Let me take a moment and introduce myself - my name is Karissa Chow and I am the hands and mind behind Grey Ox Metal. My jewelry making passion started at the young age of 12. Although I decided to pursue a career in hairstyling at the age of 17, I’ve always dabbled in jewelry design. Metalsmithing was a big dream of mine. Fast forward 23 years and here I am, living the dream!! As of August 2018 I retired from a very successful hairstyling business to go full force into metalsmithing and haven’t looked back since. I love the whole process from start to finish and I especially enjoy the look on customers faces when they admire my work. This year I spent time building my own website to showcase my current stock so that anyone from anywhere in the world can shop online. If seeing my work in person is more your style you can catch me at many local markets and artisan shows year round! (You can find current market listings on my website under “Blog”) Another new exciting avenue I’m exploring this year is showcasing my work at The Big Bay General Store, this spring through fall. So if you live or travel near Wiarton, Ontario you’ll have to go check it out and also try a scoop or two of their famous homemade ice cream!!
